Filling the gap

Bridges

Bridges are aesthetic tooth replacements that can be permanently attached to one or more teeth surrounding the space to prevent further damage and restore your smile.

Bridges are aesthetic tooth replacements that can be permanently attached to one or more teeth surrounding the space to prevent further damage and restore your smile.

Gaps created by missing teeth can put a strain on the surrounding teeth, causing them to shift and create bigger problems. Food and bacteria easily get stuck in these gaps which can cause tooth decay or gum disease.

A bridge will restore your smile, improve your appearance and potentially eliminate the need for a denture.

Our team will take the time to make sure you feel little or no discomfort during the process. However, there is a small chance you might experience a small amount of sensitivity for a few days after the treatment, but it will likely go away very quickly on its own.

Each treatment has its advantages. Bridges, however, are permanently fixed in your mouth and look and act more like natural teeth, making it easier to eat foods like fresh vegetables, fruit and crusty bread. Bridges are also more comfortable, easier to clean, take up less space in your mouth and are less likely to affect your speech.

For comparison, dentures need to be removed every day to allow your gums and palate to ‘breathe’ to reduce the chances of disease and further tooth loss.

Your dentist will gladly discuss the pros and cons of dentures and bridges with you before they begin any treatment.
