Julie qualified in 1996 from Queens University Belfast. She worked locally, gaining valuable experience, building on her clinical reputation. In 2007, Castlebawn Dental Practice opened its doors for the first time with an additional site opening in Bangor in 2010. Both practices have grown to become a major provider of dental care in North Down and Ards.
Julies main passion is ortho and Invisalign. Julie has been practicing adult ortho for over 10 years.. As well as having a wealth of experience she has completed PG Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy and Post Graduate certificate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry.
Alongside dentistry Julie is heavily involved with all decisions and developments that come with owning a Dental Practice. Family life keeps Julie just as busy. She is married to Stuart, who plays a major backstage role in the daily operations of the practice. When Julie + Stuart find some time to relax, they enjoy spending time in Fermanagh along with their 3 teenage children.
Karin graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2002 and has been part of the team at Castlebawn Dental Practice, Bangor, since it opened in 2010.
Karin enjoys getting to know her patients and she delivers a high standard of care in a relaxed and friendly environment that is family orientated. She has a particular interest in treating children and enjoys giving talks in local Primary Schools to promote Oral Health.
Karin provides a wide range of treatments including Cosmetic Orthodontic Treatment. Karin is a certified provider of Invisalign®, a very sought after treatment that radically improves the straightening of the patients teeth without being invasive. The result being aesthetically pleasing, boosting the Patients confidence as well as providing healthy, beautiful smiles.
Outside of dentistry Karin enjoys family days out with her husband and three children. Karin has a love of travelling to other countries and experiencing different cultures.
Laura graduated from The University of Dundee in 2004. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a wealth of experience. Laura is naturally discerning, especially for her most anxious patients who attend for treatments. Her gentle nature and warm approach makes her the ideal clinician for everyone including mature and younger patients. Laura also offers a wide range of Cosmetic Treatments including:- Teeth Whitening, White Fillings, Crowns and Bridgework.
Laura has a passion for community care away from the Dental practice and has visited local Schools to teach children about the importance of looking after their teeth and as they get older they will then be more informed about their Dental hygiene. Laura’s heart for helping others has seen her travel to Africa to treat children and she also became an NHS vaccinator to help during to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Laura is married to John, they have 3 children and although family life is busy but rewarding, she enjoys nothing more in her spare time than playing a game of hockey.
Leah graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2012. Following this she spent some time working in Community and Hospital dentistry before joining Castlebawn in 2014.
She has completed her postgraduate MFDS qualification and is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice particularly working with children and Oral Health Promotion. Prevention is better than cure!
In her spare time Leah enjoys going to the gym, running the park run on a Saturday morning and spending time with her two young daughters.
Having graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 2011, Catriona began her dental career in the Scottish Highlands and later moved to a practice in Belfast before joining the Castlebawn team in January 2018.
Catriona really enjoys her role as a dentist, especially the aspects of her work which allows her to implement her eye for detail and creativity. To this end, she has developed a specialist interest in cosmetic composite bonding and is an accredited Smilefast® practitioner.
Catriona also offers facial aesthetics treatments including Anti wrinkle Injections, Microneedling, Facial Rejuvenation with Dermal Fillers and Lip Fillers. She is committed to perfecting her skills in this field by regularly attending courses to keep up to date with the most advanced and cutting-edge treatments available; whilst being ever mindful that patient safety is a priority of utmost importance.

Caroline qualified in Glasgow 2005. Caroline has been an associate at Castlebawn Dental Practice since 2010. Caroline enjoys the variety of general practice, but particularly dealing with anxious patients, as the communication side of dentistry is something she considers to be most important and is invaluable when gaining trust and developing a reassuring environment for her Patients.
Caroline has enjoyed building relationships with her patients over the last eleven years and strives to deliver the best standard of care that she can for them. In the past she has been involved with Vocational Training and going forward intends to continue broadening her skillset and knowledge with ongoing CPD.
Outside of work, spending time with her young family and her friends (especially in the great outdoors) are her passions. She hopes to be able to get to go travelling again soon!
Mark joined Castlebawn Dental Practice in October 2016 and is delighted to be able to provide implant-based solutions in the clinic.
After graduating from Queens University Belfast in 2005, where he was awarded the John Malone Medal for Best Performance in Conservative Dentistry in his final year Exams. Mark has worked in the Belfast area providing general dental care, but with a special interest in implant dentistry.
Mark has studied throughout the UK and Europe to further his knowledge and skills in the field of implant dentistry and aims to incorporate the most up-to-date techniques and technologies to ensure his patients are provided with the best possible care. Mark has recently been awarded the prestigious Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, passing his exams with the additional Advanced Certificate which allows him to treat more advanced implant cases. He is a member of the UK Association of Dental Implantology and helps to mentor local dentists beginning their journeys into implant dentistry.
As a member of the Royal Lifesaving Society, Mark has represented Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Lifesaving Games in 2006. When he has free time from looking after young family, Mark enjoys running, playing football and golf, as well as growing his own fruit and vegetables.
